In Anchorage - Demo

Genre: Rock/Hardcore
FFO: Cave In, Robots and Empire

In Anchorage was a band from Poghkeepsie, New York. They're one of my favorite bands to come out of that area. Great riffs, and awesome vocal delivery. Some of these songs were ripped from their myspace a few years ago, and cut out at the end of the song so i apologize for that. That shouldn't stop you from downloading this and listening to it.

Glassjaw - Live @ Maxwell's 10.10.10

Facebook

Genre: Post Hardcore
FFO: Deftones, Thursday, At The Drive-In

Glassjaw played a string of secret shows last year while they were releasing the series of 7" singles. This is the audio from one of those shows. They played some of my favorite songs the band ever recorded, and a few songs they haven't played in a long time. The set list from this show is Ape Dos Mil, Convectuoso, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence, Must've Run All Day, Secret Song(Losten), Trailer Park Jesus, and Wolf Egg(which is now known as Black Nurse).

Dagwood - Paradise

Facebook

Genre: Pop Punk
FFO: Osker, Seaweed, The Ramones

This album was just released yesterday by the band for free. I've already listened to it a few times through, and I haven't even had it for a full 24 hours. Dagwood always does some unexpected shit. They played one of their first shows with Alkaline Trio at Toads place, and just recently played with Badfish, a Sublime tribute band. They have a podcast called Mindplow that's filled with prank phone calls, skits, new songs from them, and interviews with people. They interviewed Chris from Hostage Calm in the first podcast. They also have a Public Access show coming out soon, and I can't even imagine how weird that's going to be. Anyways, back to the album, it's really good and catchy, and doesn't have any random pop punk mosh parts. Everyone should check this out.

Make Do And Mend - Live Acoustic Set 10/3/10

Facebook

Genre: Pop Punk/Acoustic
FFO: Hot Water Music, Polar Bear Club

According to James in the recording, this was the first time the band played live acoustically. I usually like when bands do some acoustic things, but I was kinda iffy when I heard MDAM were planning on releasing an acoustic EP. But the track they have online for the Acoustic EP sounds pretty tight, so I decided to look into it some more. While I was looking for more info, I saw a couple youtube videos of them performing this set in someone's apartment, thought it sounded pretty neat, and ripped the audio. Check this out.

Inside Out - No Spiritual Surrender

Genre: Hardcore/Punk
FFO: Burn, Judge

I've been listening to this record a lot lately, so I figured I'd post it on here. Inside Out was Zach De La Rocha's band before going on to start Rage Against The Machine. The band also featured members of Shelter, 108, Chain Of Strength, Burn, Gorilla Biscuits, and a few other notable bands. No spiritual Surrender was the band's only release, and was one of the earlier Rev releases. The band had material written for a new record, but broke up shortly after Vic DiCara left the band. Zach went on to start Rage Against The Machine.

Canvas - Ashes

Facebook / Bandcamp

Genre: Indie/Rock
FFO: Call It Arson, Weezer

Canvas is an Indie band from Connecticut featuring current, and ex, members of Call It Arson, The Distance, Stab You In The Head, Cold Snap, Baby Grand, and a few other bands. Ashes is a solid, cohesive album where all the songs complements one another. The first two tracks, and the last two tracks on the album are new songs, and the four songs in the middle of the album are on the EP that was released last year. That being said, this is one of my favorite releases of the year so far. Everyone should check this out, and if you like it, you should seriously buy it.

Heavy Breath - The EP's

Facebook

Genre: Hardcore/Punk
FFO: The Suicide File, 108, Refused

Heavy Breath is a newer hardcore band from Connecticut. They just released a 12" compiling their two EPs on Get Young Records. The first side of the 12" is their new EP, Ugly Americans, which is a lot faster and weirder than previous EP, Synthemesc Dreams. Ugly Americans has lots of samples and weird guitar parts. But it's a really great, unique piece of work that everyone should listen to. Synthemesc Dreams is a lot different, and every song flows together. It also has A Clockwork Orange lyrical theme, which rules. Check this out.

Sum Of All fears - From This Day Forward...

Genre: Hardcore
FFO: Divided By Hate, Voice Of Reason

Sum Of All Fears was a CTHC band from the 90's. They did a split with Tenfold (another CTHC band) that was the first Bridge 9 release, when B9 was still in CT. This album is filled with hits, and is easily one of my favorite 90's hardcore albums.

I Am The Avalanche - Rough Demos

Facebook

Genre: Pop Punk
FFO: The Movielife

I Am The Avalanche is a Pop Punk band from New York. IATA is Vinnue Caruana, from The Movielife's new (not so new anymore) band. They released an album in 2005, and because of problems with their record label they haven't been able to release any new material. A couple years ago, these demos started floating around on the internet. The band recently announced that they'll be releasing their second full length record some time this year. So until then, listen to these songs and be patient.

The Smiths - Peel Sessions

Genre: Brit-Pop/Alt. Rock/Jangle Pop
FFO: Morrissey, The Cure, The Cranberries

The Smiths were a British Pop band from the 80's. They were only active for about 5 years, but released 4 full length studio albums. The Peel Sessions was released as a 7" a year after The Smiths disbanded. All the songs on this EP appeared on Hatful of Hollow, except for the track Miserable Lie.

Call it Arson - Friend For Life EP

Genre: Folk/Indie
FFO: Bright Eyes, Canvas, The Haunted Continents

Call It Arson is the best band to come out of Connecticut. They broke up a few years ago, but have started playing shows again, most recently with Death Threat and Supertouch. There are rumors that their Animal Strings EP may get some vinyl treatment soon. If/when that happens, you'd be an idiot to not buy it. But enough about all that, this EP is some of the band's earlier work, and it's really awesome.

Misfits - 12 Hits From Hell

Genre: Punk
FFO: Samhain, Danzig

Everyone knows who the Misfits are, a horror themed punk band that started in the late 70's. For the few people who don't know anything about the Misfits, this is a good staring point. These are all Danzig era songs, and they're all the hits. Perfect music for the Fall.

Witches With Dicks - Manual

Genre: Pop Punk/Punk
FFO: Off With Their Heads, Like Bats

Witches With Dicks were a punk band from Boston, MA. They recorded this full length, and a 7" before calling it quits. I always keep this album in heavy rotation, especially in the Fall. Members went on to play in Ringers.

Cornerstone - Beating The Masses

Genre: Hardcore/Punk/Youth Crew
FFO: Gorilla Biscuits, Wide Awake, Fast Break

Cornerstone was a 90's straight edge hardcore band from Connecticut. This is the band's only full length, Ernie from Token Entry did the artwork, and it's only barely over 14 minutes long. This just means that there are no filler tracks, so every song is a banger. Members went on to start Fastbreak. If you're a fan of youth crew, this is something you should check out.

Fugazi - The Peel Sessions

Genre: Post Hardcore/Punk/Indie
FFO: Jawbox

I just found this online just the other day, and don't know when these tracks were recorded. But that doesn't really matter, cause the songs are great and they sound pretty decent. I've always liked Fugazi, but never really listened to them much. Fugazi consisted of Ian McKaye (Minor Threat) and Guy Picciotto (Rites of Spring), and in the band's existence released 7 full lengths and toured nonstop.

Genre: Punk

This EP is one of my favorite releases of the last few years, and i'm glad this band has received so much positive attention and recognition since its release, because they deserve it. The EP has a very strong Hot Water Music vibe and feel to it, and the songs flow into one another, which adds to the replay value of BOW. House of Blow consists of Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw, Head Automatica) and F. Sean Martin (Hatebreed, Cage). They released these two songs, Afghani Black and Icebait(which was also known as Banger).
