Dismay - In Doubt

This was the first, and only album ever released by Dismay. This album is really fucking good. The guitars are really thick and heavy, and mixed perfectly with the rest of the instruments. The album has a slower, groovier style of hardcore that was popular in the 90's, and has recently become popular again. This is a classic album that I think everyone should have. Dismay reformed in the early 2000's to play a few reunion shows in CT, and were supposed to release a second album. They had the instruments recorded, and all that was left to be recorded was the vocals. Before the vocals could ever be recorded, the singer passed away.

Dismay was a hardcore band from CT from the 90's. They released several different versions of their demo with different covers, or different song orders. The demos have very good sound quality, and are very listenable. They played a slow, groovy style of hardcore.

Frogball/Dolarhyde - Split 2009 Tour Cassette Tape

This tape was sold on tour in 2009. Frogball's side contains a Kid Dynamite cover, which rules. The split was supposed to be released onto a 7", but before it could be pressed Frogball broke up.

Converge / Overcast - Twin Terror Split 7"

Converge / Overcast

This split is from 1995, when both bands were about to release both of their first albums, and it was released without either band's knowledge. Overcast's side isn't all that interesting, but Converge's is very different from anything a Converge fan would expect. Bannon voice comes off as tough, almost as if he was in a NYHC band or something.

Ink & Dagger - Live At This Is Hardcore 2010

I thought that I was never going to see Ink & Dagger in my life, so when I saw the lineup for this year's This Is Hardcore I ordered tickets as soon as they went up. The tickets for the fest sold out in 36 hours. Geoff Rickly did vocals at all of the reunion shows, and did a great job. This was easily my favorite set from the weekend. Audio for this was ripped from the Hate5Six video.

Shift was a post-hardcore band from New York who were active in the 90's. They had 3 releases on Equal Vision Records before they broke up. This is their first, and easily their best release. If you like Quicksand, you will definitely enjoy this band.

Strength Through Diversity Compilation

Darrell Tauro from Wrench In The Works/Groundzero/Emmanuel 7 released this compilation. It features a lot of great bands from the 90's who were very influential to a lot of later bands. I highly recommend, if you like any hardcore or metal, that you get this.
